On Saturday, 7 October, a few Knights (Brother Mike Keeser, Brother Rocco Totino, Brother Dan Timmons, DGK Bill Bannon, and GK Pete McCabe) gathered to repair the Grotto Altar top. As many of you know, the altar top has been bubbling and discoloring since its creation. The repair began by removing the existing top which was a dusty and sticky job. Once it was removed the work crew headed to Floor and Décor in Clearwater to purchase tile for the altar. The pictures should give you a good idea of the work involved. On Saturday, 14 October, the second half of the job included adding border tile to the three large tiles in the center of the altar. On Sunday, 15 October, the final phase of the project added the grout between the tiles and surrounding stone. Recommend everyone get out to the grotto to see the new altar top. I hope you are as impressed and proud of the project as I am. Special thanks to Mike Keeser who provided his expertise to this effort and allowed the rest of us to be his helpers. donation will help us to continue our mission of supporting our community. Every dollar counts and will make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
